2007 Balik-FEU Reunion a Success
The Balik-FEU Annual Alumni Homecoming and Scientific Convention held January 17-20, 2007 at the FEU-NRMF Medical Center Complex in West Fairview, Quezon City, was a success. There were about two dozen medical alumni from the United States who flew in to attend the reunion.
The theme of the seminar was "Management Options in the Young and the Young at Heart." Besides the medical lectures (listed on the Programme below) given by the local alumni and those from the USA, part of the meeting was the Lauro H. Panganiban Memorial Lecture, which was given by Noel D. Nequin, M. D., Class '62, Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation at Swedish Covnenat Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. The other was the presentation of FEU-DNR-SMAF Student Achievement Award to medical students who have excelled in the various subjects in the FEU-NRMF Institute of Medicine. The Over-All Chair of the reunion was Ambrosio Brabante, Jr., m.D., '81, Co-Chair, Sonny Habacon, M.D. '81, and the chairman of the Scientific Activities was Ma Isabel Cruz-Urtula, M.D., '81.
The reunion concluded with a Grand Alumni and Silver Jubilee Ball on Saturday, the 20th, at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza near the CCP Complex in Pasay City, which was attended by 426. The Silver Jubilarian (Class '81) had an impressive 75 in attendance, headed by its president, Sonny M. Habacon, M.D. This was the larget ever. The Class of '81 was a hit with its belly-dancing presentation. Other celebrant classes feted that evening were Classes of '61, '66, '71, '76, ''86, '91, '96, and 2001. The music was provided by the famed Gloria Gatmaitan Band.
