Jane P. Legaspi, M.D., former alumni foundation Executive Director, has been appointed editor of the
Ectopic Murmur, the alumni bi-annual newsletter. Dr. Legaspi, who is the wife
of alumni board chairman Amante Legaspi, M.D., obtained her doctor of medicine
degree from FEU in 1969. She worked as a company physician with the Del Rosario
Brothers Industries in Makati Manila until the couple emigrated to the U.S. in 1972.
She finished her Psychiatric Residency Training at the Eastern Virginia Graduate
School of Medicine in Norfolk, Va., and went to work with the Navy Regional Medical
Center in Portsmouth, VA as a Staff Psychiatrist and Clinical Instructor, after her residency.
Then she proceeded to be the Department Head of the Navy Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation
center in Norfolk Virginia. Dr. Jane opted for early retirement about 18 years ago to pursue
her second love of Business, while doing charity works on the side like the Operation Smile,
the Physicians for Peace, and the PMA of Southeatern Virginia. The Legaspis have two
